Introduction
Welcome to Chatro Messenger. By accessing or using our services you agree to follow these Terms, our policies and our community guidelines.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Chatro Inc. (“Chatro”, “we”, “us”) and govern your access to and use of Chatro Messenger, including messaging, voice and video calls, media sharing, status updates, reels, communities, channels and any related services (together, the “Services”).
- By creating an account or using Chatro you accept these Terms in full.
- You agree to comply with all applicable local, national and international laws.
- You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
- If you do not agree to these Terms, you must stop using Chatro.
Section 02
Eligibility
To use Chatro you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country).
- Have the legal capacity and permission to enter into these Terms.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your account.
- Keep your login credentials, devices, and recovery options secure at all times.
If we discover that an account belongs to a person who does not meet these requirements, we may suspend or remove the account.
Section 03
Account Registration
- You can create an account using a unique username; phone numbers are optional and used only for recovery if you choose to add one.
- You must not impersonate any person, brand, or organization.
- Usernames must not infringe trademarks or violate community standards.
- Fake accounts, automated sign-ups, and spam accounts are strictly prohibited.
- You may operate multiple personal accounts only when used in good faith and not to evade enforcement.

Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Chatro or help anyone else do so.
The following activities are prohibited:
- Illegal activity of any kind
- Harassment, bullying, or abusive behaviour
- Hate speech or discrimination
- Promotion of terrorism, extremism or violence
- Fraud, scams, phishing or deceptive practices
- Distributing malware, viruses or attempting to hack the platform
- Unauthorized automation, bots, or scraping of the Services
- Bulk or unsolicited spam messaging
- Copyright or other intellectual-property infringement
- Impersonation of individuals, brands or Chatro staff
- Distribution of harmful, sexual content involving minors, or otherwise unlawful content
Violations may result in:
- Removal of the violating content
- Temporary restrictions or account suspension
- Permanent ban of the account and associated devices
- Reporting to law enforcement where legally required
Section 05
Privacy & Security
- Chatro uses end-to-end encryption to protect your messages, calls, and media.
- You control your privacy settings, including who can contact you and see your activity.
- We work to protect your account and conversations with industry-standard safeguards.
- You are responsible for the security of your devices, passwords and recovery methods.
- No system can guarantee 100% security; you use the Services at your own risk.

Section 06
User Content
- You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to Chatro.
- By using Chatro, you grant us a limited licence to host, store, process, transmit and display your content solely to operate and improve the Services.
- You are solely responsible for your messages, media, statuses, links and any other content you share.
- Chatro may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
Section 07
Third-Party Content & YouTube Links
- You may share public YouTube and other third-party links inside chats, channels and communities.
- You must respect copyright and the terms of the platforms whose content you share.
- Chatro does not claim ownership of third-party videos, music or other linked media.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to share the content you post.
- Embedded content is governed by the policies of the original platform.
Section 08
Intellectual Property
- The Chatro name, logo, brand, app design, and underlying technology are owned by Chatro Inc.
- You may not copy, modify, redistribute or create derivative works of our software or branding without written permission.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from any part of the Services.
- All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Chatro.
Section 09
Communities, Channels & Reels
- You are responsible for any public content you post in communities, channels, statuses or reels.
- Chatro may moderate, restrict or remove content that breaks these Terms or our community guidelines.
- Owners and admins of communities and channels are responsible for moderating their spaces.
- Reels and videos must comply with copyright, safety and content guidelines.
Section 10
Calls, Media & Storage
- Voice and video call quality depends on your device, network, and internet connection.
- Temporary caching of media may occur on your device or our infrastructure to enable delivery.
- Media you download remains on your device and is your responsibility to manage.
- Chatro may compress, optimise or remove temporary cloud media to maintain performance.
Section 11
Account Suspension & Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from within the app.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm other users.
- Severe or repeated violations may result in a permanent ban across devices.
- After deletion, your username and content may become unavailable and may not be recoverable.
Section 12
Disclaimers
- The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
- Temporary outages, interruptions or maintenance may occur without notice.
- Features may be added, changed or removed over time at our discretion.
- We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always secure.
Section 13
Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chatro is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages.
- You use the Services at your own risk.
- Chatro is not responsible for content posted by other users or for third-party websites and services linked from the platform.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

- These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to our Services or the law.
