Chatro started in 2024 with a small team that believed messaging had stopped innovating. Three years later, millions of people in 180+ countries chat, call and create on Chatro every day.
We grew up on messaging apps. We loved how they brought people closer, but we were uncomfortable with how much of our identity they demanded — phone numbers, contact lists, location data, behavioural profiles. We wanted a messenger that worked the other way around: minimum data in, maximum delight out.
Chatro Messenger was born from that idea. A username instead of a phone number. End-to-end encryption by default. A clean, calm interface that respects your attention.
